Riding through the “snow wall”.
In a week or two this will be melted and they’ll open the pass up to cars.
And then no more road bike playground. :(
So I’m doing this as much as I can in the next few weeks.

So I did it! The ride up the McKenzie Pass was a success! It is hands down my favorite ride I’ve ever done and I’m goin again on Monday. :)
I can’t believe I’m so lucky to have stuff like this 20 minutes away from my door.
We started in Sisters and rode to the Dee Wright Observatory at the summit of the pass. I ate the most delicious pb&j of my life and also got attacked by zombie chipmunks. Apparently, it’s been awhile since they’ve smelled a pbj. :) A not so proud moment of my life was running away from A CHIPMUNK in my road shoes and having Sal (my coach) yell at me for ruining my cleats.
The descent was super fast and it was fun winding our way down to the snow gate and remembering not to crash into it. (Success) All in all, we rode 34 miles and did about 3,000 ft of climbing. I am also happy to report that I didn’t get a sunburn. There’s a first time for everything I suppose.
I can’t wait to do it again on Monday!

It’ll be my first time. Stoked.
